Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out, just take another shot.” Mr. Michels has worked in District 102 since 1998. Moving up through the ranks, Mr. Michels began his career as an Aptakisic Junior High School Social Studies teacher in 1998. Mr. Michels spent 11 years at the junior high before leaving his assistant principal position to become a Co-Principal at Tripp Elementary School in 2009 and then Principal at Meridian School in 2016. Interestingly, Mr. Michels is a local Buffalo Grove product, having graduated from District 102 and from Adali E. Stevenson High School. Mr. Michels is passionate about helping everyone to be as successful as possible and school safety. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and History from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Arts in School Administration from National Louis University, and his Educational Specialists Degree from Northern Illinois University.

Nicole Milewski began in 2021 as Assistant Principal of Meridian School. Ms. Milewski has served as a Student Services Coordinator for Palatine School District 15, building assistant principal for Queen Bee District 16, and elementary teacher for CUSD 300. She has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from DePaul University, a Master’s degree in Special Education, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Aurora University.
