D102 Superintendent Lori Wilcox and the Board of Education stand with shovels in front of the construction site at the District Office.

Just over a year ago, D102 passed a referendum to replace the infrastructure of our aging

buildings and add space to AJHS to support our growing enrollment. Yesterday we celebrated the

start of construction of the link that will connect AJHS and the District Office and the nine new

science rooms that are being built within the DO for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. None of

this would have been possible without referendum dollars. Thank you, D102 community!

After school we recognized AJHS staff who provided valuable input on the design of the science

labs as well as the future gymnasium. At 6:00 p.m. we honored and thanked our Board of

Education members, previous Board president, Village officials, our state representative,

Aptakisic Education Association leaders, and members of the AJHS student council as well as our

construction management team and architect. We truly appreciate the collaboration, leadership,

and partnership of these stakeholders!D102 Superintendent Lori Wilcox shovels gravel with community members at the construction site
